After the buggy weirdness of 2.1’s updating process we sent another version over to Apple, 2.1.1, to resolve the launch issue. This is now available in the App Store.
Now everyone can try out 2.1 properly and start recording their mixes right in Sonorasaurus Rex. If anyone has made or posted a mix please share it with us here. We would love to check them out!
Amid the chaos and frustration of 2.1 the latest issue of Computer Music was released to news stands. This specific issue is a special dedicated mostly to music apps across different mobile platforms. We were fortunate enough to be included in their showcase and the whole issue is pretty cool in general. Definitely try to get your hands on a copy. There are also some cool editorials on choosing headphones and a feature on different accessories for the iPad musician.
Apple has just approved Sonorasaurus Rex 2.1 for the iPad. You can grab it here, and existing users should now see it in their Updates window. Check it out!
Update: Some people have written in saying they have had issues with the update. There appears to be a bug within the updating process itself. Also others have encountered issues with the waveform pre-processing.
For those who have updated and are having problems we recommend trying the following:
1. Restart the iPad (long press on the Lock button)
2. If the above does not work, remove the app by long-pressing on the app, then tapping the ‘x’ button.
3. Reinstall the version 2.1 app.
We have submitted a bug fix to Apple in the form of version 2.1.1 and it should be available within a week. You may want to skip 2.1 update altogether and wait for that update if you already have Sonorasaurus Rex 2.0. So far these issues have not affected any of the new users we have spoken to.
