It appears that the Memory Tapes album Seek Magic has started shipping on vinyl. This is great news for those of us who pre-ordered the vinyl with Acephale a bit ago. For the digital music lovers out there you don’t even need to wait. You can get the album now (itunes, amazon, emusic).

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Memory Tapes (aka Memory Cassette) the artist has offered quite a few MP3s directly. Check them out and then show your support by grabbing the record or buying some MP3s.

Midnight Juggernauts – This New Technology (Memory Tapes Remix) DL

A Quick Update

Filed in: iPhone, iPod, Sonorasaurus

First off we want to say thanks to Matt over at tuaw.com for the Sonorasaurus preview post. TUAW is our main site for reading mac news so being featured on the site was awesome to say the least.

We also thought we would take the time to give an update on the Sonorasaurus DJ app. It is still being reviewed by Apple (in it’s 7th week now). We would love to announce a release date, but as some of you may know that is not something developers can pin point.

Until then we will keep everyone updated on the progress or any feedback we receive and give the occasional music suggestion.

Machinarium & Tomas Dvorak

Today Amanita Design released their latest game, Machinarium. The game itself is fantastic to say the very least. It is beautifully illustrated, well thought out, challenging and completely unique so of course you should grab it immediately.

But this is not the main focus of this post. What we really want you to check out is the game’s soundtrack. It was a very welcome surprise to play through the game with Tomas Dvorak’s compositions as the backdrop. It worked especially well to convey Machinarium’s emotions and atmosphere given that the character’s did not actually speak.

If I were to give any sort of example I would say to imagine if Burial worked on soundtracks. Beyond that Dvorak’s work is not something you can stick in a genre and is best experienced first hand.
